The Impact of Football Boots on Injury Risk in Women's Football

Laura Youngson is a four-time Guinness World Record holder and the co-founder of Ida Sports, a company that designs and produces female-specific football boots. In 2017, Laura led a group of women to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro to play a record-breaking football match at the highest altitude. It was there she discovered a common problem facing female players all over the world - their boots were made for men or children. She says: "Women aren't just small men. We do have fundamentally different biomechanics, we have different body shapes, body mass and that was one of the reasons that I thought it was really important"
