How to Give Feedback to Others
A few years ago, I set up a feedback system at the company where I was a director of engineering and one of the questions were basically, what do you appreciate about this person? What should they do more of? And then the second question was, you know, what growth suggestions do you have? And I was very surprised when literally 95% of the feedback that came back was things people appreciate about each other. People would sit in their reviews, reading all this pure feedback with me and they would just be overwhelmed with all the positive praise they were getting. Like it was really awesome.
