The Importance of Thinking in Terms of Leagues
When preferences are rationally cyclic, thinking in terms of appraisal categories or I sometimes call them leagues remains very pertinent. In such cases, rational choice will still involve league-based satisficing relative to the agent's preferences. So really, if you hate everything I've said before, it's still true that all this machinery of categorical appraisal responses is still relevant.
