The Impact of the Andromeda Galaxy on the Solar System

In a couple of billion years our galaxy is going to merge with the Andromeda galaxy. It'd be very unlikely that we'd even have started a star collision. They wouldn't interact with each other via their gravitational fields. The humans have been around for maybe a tenth or two tenths of a million years. So we're talking a very long time scale and they will whip around to form some sort of mess at the end.
