The women of the a t s were sent abroad during World War Two. The biggest concern about recruiting women into the armed forces was that they would be deflowered by allied men. A lot of girls weren't able to go overseas, and their mothers wouldn't give them permission. Women also played an important role in first aid nursing yeomanry.
