From 1950 to 2000, our population in the city of St. Louis went from a little over 700,000 to around 300,000. Now it's a over 65% drop. When you have that kind of debt divestment of both people and investment dollars in the city, you see a lot of things go to ruin. The community has to come together through education, through investment to really turn it around. And that takes getting the county involved. We can't have this Berlin wall between us."
