The Corioles in North Africa

By the time Augustine was born there had already been two and a half centuries of land development in North Africa. But his father was a minor official. They called them Corioles. Sort of officials in Roman towns were towns under Roman law. It was part of the Senate making decisions about the common growth of that particular town.
