Eurasia was a huge incubator of bacteria and viruses that could quickly change and spread. So over time, people in eurasia had to build up resistances to these various diseases. This was not true in the americas, to a much lesser degree. In theAmericas, you hada continents running mainly north south. There was a lot less travel and trade back and forth among the different cities and societies there.
