The Reason We Don't Consider Childcare a High Art

You don't see a lot of men doing childcare here in the US or around the world necessarily. Women of color do this type of work because they are thought of in this subordinated position and they are treated as such as well. So yes, we see an issue with why certain rights have not been passed or certain bills have not been passing through Congress regarding childcare providers. And so as long as we're underpaying and under resourcing certain groups of people, then we can keep childcare below the standards that we expect workers to get paid and treated. Even though it's the hardest and most important job imaginable.
