"Your goals need to be alined with their goals, or the goals of the team," says Mike Manit. "Make sure all the stuff that you've agreed to do, even if it's self generated, that that is actually serving your goals." Manit has worked at a company for 11 and a half years now; he was surprised by how many things didn't fit into his goals.
