Is There a Difference Between Reason and Reason?
Spirve and Mercier argue that reason as a faculty is not traditionally how it has been looked at. The real power of reason is that it can use the input from other modules, other inferential modules to help in its process of evaluating reasons. Reasons on the other hand are usually sentences. They are usually a sentence that has something that you are going to do or a proposition and then a justification for it. So quite simply, I'm going to bring my umbrella. Because it's raining outside with that because is a reason for bringing my umbrella.
