In Greek and Roman theater, masks weren't necessarily designed to be fake. They were intended to amplify the emotion in modern cinema didn't exist yet. A person can have a lot of flexibility within the persona. It doesn't just have to be one aspect. There's millions of aspects inside of us, right? Or at least feels like it.
