Joyce and Nora Barnacle wrote a series of erotic letters to one another about farts in 1909. The pair were separated from each other while traveling, so they got creative on how to fulfill their sexual needs. Joyce was taken back by something dirty that Nora had said; he tried his best to keep up with her. But the replies have never been found: it's merely left to our imagination what she had to say.
