The Importance of Choosing a Sound Palette

I think more people should work in that way of choosing a palette and sticking to it. It's half the puree records, like old Bjork records. A lot of the science on those are so well curated. I find if you're collecting snare samples, for example, you'll be picking out ones from hundreds that sound great. And then you kind of listen back to all of them and you're like, they all have something in common,. They all have something to them. There's something that I latch onto in a snare sound or there's something that ties them all together. But yeah, I think people miss that nowadays.
