The Theology of the Body - The Origin of Man
The scriptural foundation for the theology of the body is the creation story that is found in the second and third chapters of Genesis. John Paul II always characterized chapter 2 of Genesis as a divinely inspired account of man's self-understanding. The primal experience of man that is revealed in that Genesis narrative is what John Paul refers to as original solitude.
