Grace and Gratitude in the Ancient World
The Greek word for grace is keros. We would transliterate it's C-H-A-R-I-S keros and and it really means a gift. And in the ancient world especially like up what we would refer to as like a patron would give a gift. You were obligated to show them gratitude. It's again fallen out of favor but we used to call saying a prayer before our food saying grace.
