Randy Cevallos: Originalism is a means of constraining judges to prevent them from reading their own policy preferences into the Constitution. Thomas O'Connor: I just think that's basically inaccurate, an inaccurate reading of what the Constitution actually says. The meaning is ascertainable and that's the meaning that should be followed.
