i started with my masses programme in two thousand 11. That year i witnessed the publication of two landmark studies on the environmental history of the ottoman empire. And at the time, if you ask anybody, any middle east historian, a, or you tell them like environmental history, they would not really know and understand what environmental history is. It was novel concept. This is not to say that environmental history was not being done in two thousand11. But it was a very antiquated way for the most part.
