Julian's reputation is that he was not a persecutor. He tolerated all flavors of Christianity, which means I am going to recall from exile all of the bishops that were declared heretics,. And then they will sort out their differences and, you know, devour themselves from within. It's also going to keep Christians from knowing rhetoric, which is the key political tool. If you don't know proper rhetoric, you're just never going to get anywhere in politics.
