Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The metaphors and imagery he uses to talk here about the future for God's world is unique. This is one of the only places that we get it in the teachings of Jesus. The Sadducees who say there is no resurrection came to Jesus with a question. They said, Moses told us that if a man dies without having any children, his brother must marry that widow and raise up offspring for him. Now there were seven brothers among us, but only one bride. So then Jesus, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of those seven since she was married to all of them? That's my paraphrase. But it's not far is it?
