The Problem With Uploading Consciousness in a Computer
There's a number of problems, some of which are really deeply technical. It is physically impossible to assume that noiseless measurements can be made. Even if the machine shows all over notions of having acquired your personality and so forth, there's no evidence that it acquired your identity. So I would be very reluctant to buy that machine myself.
