Into the Wild - A History of Animal Behavior
Ruth harkness would spend the rest of her life lost and groping. She followed a rumor of a south american panda deep into the jungles of peru, where there was no andin no light. They think su lin choked on some bamboo, something that probably could have happened in the wild, but it didn't. Zoo started realizing that they couldn't really study animal behavior without watching them actually behave. The best way to keep crowds coming through the doors was by having zoologists figure out ways to keep the animals healthy and alive.
