Is There a Difference Between British and American Universities?
I was hired by a man named Jonathan Beit who you might know and his wife Paula Byrne. They were extremely good to me and they were very supportive of the kind of work that I did. American institutions are much more interested in figuring out how they can have academics speak to a broader public so I have felt much more welcome here as well. It's not good for people in any of those positions to villainize one another what we really need to do is find ways to work with each other. We should all be working to try to figure out how to make culture a social good like clean air or housing or health care. How has finances played a role in your career? I don
