Why Do So Many People Hold on to the Police
Samuel Linsky says he feels uncomfortable with the role of police in society. He thinks people hold on to the idea of policing for a lot reasons. Police appear as normal, neutral fictures of our society - but they do nothing every day. People who continue to lobby to give more money to the police are people who also have lots of power,. And they essentially present a dicodomy to people. We need more people to engage in activism so that we can compel others to think critically about what we have and ask if we can have something better.
