The Conservative Party's Reluctance to Sell Weapons to Ukraine
It was a controversial policy from the beginning, particularly within the conservative party. Ukran was not asking for gifts of weapons. All they wanted to do was be allowed to buy weapons. It was just nervousness british side that britain would be singled out and end up in a situation of conflict with russia - which we wanted to avoid.
