The History of the Word Coach
The word coach was first used in a letter from an english diplomat named sir philip hoby. In july 15 56, he sent a letter to his friend william cecil inviting him to his home in bisam. That's the first recorded use of the word coach in the english language. It soon became popular throughout europe, especially among the wealthy who could afford it. Of course, we can use the word by self to mean a type of horse drawn carriage, but we also use it in the common term stage coach.
