The Importance of Christians in the Death Penalty Movement

I'm not a single issue person. I would like to think that I'm really a champion of life on any front. But I wrote a book, I felt like it warranted my attention to write on the death penalty and on gun violence. Christians have really been one of the obstacles to the flourishing of life. We own guns, Christians, evangelical Christians in particular, own guns at a higher rate than the general population. And we're worshiping Jesus, the Prince of Peace, the one who died loving his enemies and yet we're the ones that are packing heat and preparing to kill them. So between the gun and the cross, I see two really different versions of power. One says
