Is There a Difference Between Primary and Secondary Spinal Cord Injuries?

Primary spinal cord injuries will occur at the point of impact. More than half of them will have another time critical injury which affects hypoprofusion. Women are much more likely to be trapped than men following a motor vehicle collision. The percentage of patients who might be able to self extricate was similar across all the decades of life. And i think the takeaway from that paper is, old people are more likely to die. They are slightly more likely to have spinal injury, but probably statistically significant, but probably not clinically significant.
