Dune is a kind of Messiah story. It's like, I can't do anything by myself, but I don't have a group to participate in. So I'm caught within this double bind. But also, the notion that the whole Messiah, that idea itself, I think is falling into the sort of fellow logocentric logic - you know what I mean? Ultimately, if you're looking for the exception, the exceptional one, like a Superman, right? That's why the fantasy is so successful, I think.
