Defiant Charges and a Tragic Fate

This chapter recounts two separate charges made by French cavalry, one led by Colonel Lapique and the other by General Jean-Jacquessef Dotepool, during a battle with the Russians. While Lapique and his men fight their way back to safety, Dotepool breaks through the enemy lines but ultimately meets a tragic fate.
