The Importance of Protecting Vulnerable People in Sports

It's very tempting to look at sports as a ladder right out of bad situations and dire circumstance. I think that you want to be really really really careful when you're going into a place that doesn't particularly have a lot of context for professional baseball. Without oversight, abuse will still happen in places where there's a ton of baseball talent and we still see abuse so this it's not that there can't be a version of you know hey we're trying to spread baseball but with age limits or education involved. It feels like whenever you have secret involved it feels like where is the where's the guarantee that that's what we're getting?
