Ernest Hemingway is known for his sort of his oddly enough, his revolution in literary style. He obviously changed the prose style in ways that people who deny it still use it to deny it. There's probably no one before Hemingway except for Twain and to some extent Hawthorne who has the kind of media savvy and young men want to be.
