We have created a world in which we're valued for what we do not who we are, he says. We turn to an ancient Japanese principle of ma ma and transliterated it's a kanji character that we can picture the doors of a temple gate with slats through and gold and sunlight pouring through those slats. And so it's a principle that sometimes translated to mean silence or emptiness or nothingness but our favorite translation is pure potentiality. So that pure potentiality is what we're missing out on when we completely jam pack everything with content. He adds: "I am judged in many areas of my life on my output"
