The Future of Material Science Is in Liquids

It all depends on how the molecules are attracted to each other, which is not always the same mechanism in all liquids. With spilt water, these are tiny molecules, h two o molecules, their polar so they will flow past each other very easily. But with long chain molecules, you can imagine that they stick to each other better and flow less easily. Imbedded in those experiences of viscosity is this milecular structure. It really does sound that liquids play an outsized role in our lives. I guess the future of some material science seems to be in liquids too.
