Gold was like the one monetary lair that no one could really create an exception to, right? We couldn't counterfeit it. Unless you did it. It's a very important way to understand how we have organized ourselves across history. The nation state is hoarding the real money and effectively imposing the restricting access of citizens to that money. And then ultimately the united states restricting access to other countries to that.
