The Importance of Immaturity in the Garden of Eden
I think Adam couldn't have been fully mature at the point that he falls into sin. Maximus's view in some respects it's even more extreme than Augustine's because he and Saint Gregory Nesad's mothers hold the view essentially that like it well as he says three times that Adam fell at the very instant he came into being. Even if Adam and Eve began in a state of pristine but sort of immature innocence that doesn't mean they're just simply absolutely free all things everything else is thrown to the wayside. The whole world's beginning looks like it's already posterior to the fall adds further constraints.
