The Difference Between Rough and Flake Eight

Rough lives in the middle of that spectrum. There's, I mean, like you said, it's like a spectrum. Like black just reformats your code. It doesn't actually aware of like the logic in the code. So on the one end, you have different collections of rules and maybe not really changing the code,. Just kind of telling you about it. And so if you use rough, you probably don't need a lot of style linting.
