In the next episode of Global Security Briefing, I'll be starting a three-part series of podcasts to explore the phenomena of the rise of a counter-west. A group of countries at core China, Russia and Iran, increasingly with their own institutions are standing together against what they often term as the collective West. They're seeking to oppose the values and agendas of the West and most of the United States core of the Western system. In the first episode of the series, I'll consider what the challenge to the Western group of states looks like, ask why it has emerged and who is part of it.
