Suhravardi's Philosophy of Illumination

In his works Suhravardi speaks frequently of the peripatetics, defining his own position in opposition to theirs. Here peripatetic no longer means Aristotelian, it means Avocenin. Like Fakhradin, he responded especially to Avocenna. He is basing himself on figures from the ancient Greek tradition and Stoics.
