How Does a Microphone Reproduce the Sounds of a Football Match?

The sound of a football match is converted into electrical signals by microphones. A microphone's got to take vibrations of air molecules, go through something mechanical, moving into something electrical. So they're just the inverse of each other, really. Our listener was inspired to write in about how it was that his tiny, little head phones in his pocket radio were able to reproduce all the rich sounds of a football game. I've actually got a picture of his set up. Really tiny, little, tinny head phones, and apparently has a little speaker on the back as well. Herina.
