The Challenges of Writing a Book as an Independent Scholar
The biggest challenge for me as an independent scholar was that writing this book is not my day job. I had to do my normal job eight hours a day, five days a week and in my off time I had to work on this personal passion project. So really work-like balance definitely takes a hit when you're an independent scholar and you have to do this in your free time. But I basically managed that by not putting any arbitrary deadlines on myself. And just work on it until it's done - don't try to hurry myself a little.
