Henry Ford's Last Hope

Henry Ford's father wanted him to take over the family farm. He got into engineering and building engines because he wanted to find a way that machines could do the farm work that he was supposed to do. Henry knew all about forging and tuning metal but didn't know much about electricity. To learn, he would have to move to Detroit and get a job with a power company. The Fords left their house on the morning of September 25, 1891 and Henry started his job at Edison illuminating the same day.
