Plato's Criticism of Democracy
Plato saw a lot of good in democracy. He was aware that his entire philosophical outlook and work could only have arisen in a democracy. Plato lived through the catastrophic fall of Athenian democracy. Through these experiences, he came to believe that democracy is ultimately unsustainable.
