What Happens When You Get Hooked on Opioids?
Maté: For some, the drugs make them feel something that they've never felt before. He says it's a little thing called love, without which there's no human life. Maté: What would happen to them is that childhood trauma prevented the healthy development of their own opiate circuits. In areas where they shut down auto plants, there was an 85% rise in opioid deaths.
