The Importance of Cross Platform Code Sharing

I think the systems that we have ended up with are sort of products of the world they're intended to target. So, like, POSIX world for the most part, um, it's assumed that you distribute things as source code. Windows has always been a very binary deployment environment. I'm sitting here going, this is hugely important that we don't have the entire computing world doing the same thing. And instead we understand a larger picture and different issues.
