The Patient's Osmolar Gap
The patient was found lying on the couch at his home. His labs showed he had a sodium 141, so roughly normal. He takes metformin and lysinopril but there was nothing in the bathroom as it should be. An osmolar gap is important to know before you treat someone for an overdose.
