The Evolution of Esports: A Prisoner's Dilemma
In the original esports ecosystem, everyone was paying themselves 50 grand. Like both the players and organizations, we were splitting homes in Las Vegas. And our after parties were in abandoned barns about 10 kilometers away from young shipping for after dream hack. That was paycheck to paycheck. There were oftentimes we were eating baked beans. We were taking a lot of different jobs. But that's why it's a multiplayer prisoner's dilemma. It just became a much thornier problem to unwind, I guess.
