The Pleasure and Power of Surveillance

Foucault says that the pleasure that comes of exercising a power that questions monitors watches spies searches out palpades brings the light and on the other hand the pleasure that kindles at having to evade this power flee from it fool it or travesty. It's tricky at times even from my own part to grasp how the act of observing is a kind of repressive phenomenon in this new framework sorry about the chair. I think of surveillance cameras as one such example where there is a tendency especially if we take this in in tandem with police violence.
