The Difference Between Creative Problem Solving and Skill
There seems to be some like tension there between the generations, like the original rubix cube solver and today's kids who are solving these things in three seconds. Back then, people had to discover how to solve the rubicscube. And now you can go on youtube and memorize a couple dozen algorithms and solve it that way. So it's a different skill. It's sort of exploratory and science versus memorization. I admire both. But i do prefer puzzles where you have to come up with the solution in a totally new way, and it doesn't require as much memorization. That forty five quintilian number really instills a lot of humility in you thinking about it
