The Case Against Empathy
Empathy is different from compassion, which is I want to ameliorate the suffering of others. In fact, neural data show empathy involves parts of the frontal lobes and compassion involves a very old region near the brain stem. So with that said, I would predict scientifically that empathy would be much less correlated with all than compassion would be correlated with all.
